Thanks for trusting the Law Office of Mellany L. McDonald, PLLC with your legal matter. As you may have seen on the news or social media, many of our Courthouses in Harris County and surrounding counties are limiting appearances for all non-emergent hearings. Please be assured that if you have a scheduled hearing, we will be in regular contact with the court’s staff to stay up to date on COVID-19 updates.

• We are committed to the welfare and safety of our clients and we are prepared for this situation.

• WE ARE WORKING and the office phones will be monitored during normal business hours. While we may be working remotely, be assured that we will continue to make progress on your case.

• Harris and surrounding counties previously implemented mandatory electronic filing so cases will continue to be processed.

• We are still accepting your referrals! New consults may be scheduled using Zoom conferencing or other online options, but in today’s world of technology, we are still gladly serving Harris and surrounding counties.

• We will check in with the courts on a daily basis to determine closures and other restrictions. In the event of rescheduling, we will keep you informed. We’re in constant contact with the court’s staff to get the information as soon as we can and pass it on to you. If you have an upcoming date, you will get a call as soon as we get confirmation. As you can imagine, the courthouses are overwhelmed and they are doing their best to accommodate and reach out to everyone.

• We will be using social distancing at the office to make sure that we don’t add to the potential spread of the virus. As such, most of our work will be done online and via online conferencing, phone calls, and scanning and emailing documents with both you and other lawyers.

Thanks for your continued trust in us. We appreciate each of you.
